The Legacy handed down by the Baildon familyThe Italian villa style palace was thoroughly reconstructed by the son and grandson of industrialist Baildon between the years 1885 and 1886. It is built on the foundations of an older castle. During WWII there was a camp for Polish prisoners. Today it’s a home to the Salezjanki order. Here, in the convent sister Laura Meozzi (1873-1951) spent some time of her life spend, to be raised to the altars. Alojza Luiza von Larisch, wife of Joseph von Eichendorff, came from Pogrzebień. There is a rock in front of the Widok forest to commemorate Eichendorf’s hikes in the forest.
