The Boulder

It is situated in the middle of the Freedom Squere and it dates back to the glacial age. It’s the biggest of all boulders found on the territory of the Nizina Morawska. It was discovered before 1929 in the sand mine Popella in Wojnowice. In 1933, despite its weight (430 tons), it was transported to Racibórz to Plac Wolności, at the time called Plac Adolfa Polki. Polka was a man of merit, a benefactor and a town councilor.
