Tourist route:
At the confluence of the rivers Odra and Ostravice towers the Landek peak. It is a unique locality in the world where people first used black coal for heating. A Middle Ages castle from the 13th century was destroyed in the 16th century. Tunnels drilled during coal extraction are today a protected natural monument. The exhibition in the Mining Museum (open all year round) shows you the original coal tunnels from 1830, advancements in coal mining and other curiosities.
