Chateau KravařeThe town of Kravaře lies in the valley of the river Opava, on a naturally made terrace along the meandering river. It was first mentioned in 1224 as the dwelling of the old noble family of Kravaře. Kravaře Chateau – originally a fortress, was rebuilt in the 17th century in the Baroque style. Its present appearance originated from the reconstruction in 1721–1728. Today it is used for cultural purposes, and is home to the Castle Museum. The exhibition reminds us not only about the life of the aristocracy, but also about the lives of ordinary people. There is a golf course in the manor park. The neo-gothic church was built between 1894 and 1896. To the south the church borders a Renaissance tower from the 16th century with two bells from the 17th century. The Convent of the Heart of God, built between 1905 and 1907, is also in the neo-gothic style. The vicarage was constructed between the years 1907 and 1909.
